Simple Chèvre Crostini
Ingredients
- 8 oz Lively Run Chèvre
- 4 large slices Sourdough Bread
First, spread about 2 ounces of Chèvre on each slice of sourdough. Place the bread on a sheet pan and set on the highest rack in your oven. Broil until cheese bubbles and bread toasts crusty brown. The time will vary by the oven, but is usually takes between five and ten minutes.
Here are some additional variations to dress up this simple but effective recipe:
- Add 1 oz of caramelized onions to each slice
- Garnish with Chives
- Substitute a baguette for sourdough bread
- Drizzle each piece of bread with honey
This recipe works wonderfully as an accompaniment to fall and winter soups and stews. It can also be used as an appetizer or crostini with any of the above variations, or you can make up your own. The possibilities are virtually limitless!
