Pot o’ Melting Gold Recipe

Ingredients for 4-6 people:

8 oz Chevre

8 oz Shire

4 oz Finger Lakes Gold

8-10 oz Guinness Beer or dark local beer ( Hopshire Onyx for example)

2 Tbsp. flour

1 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. mustard powder

1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg

2 cloves garlic

  1. Mince garlic clove
  2.  Combine beer, spices, and garlic in your fondue pot and leave to boil
  3.  Grate all the cheeses except Chevre and mix with the flour
  4. When beer is starting to boil add Chevre and stir to melt into the beer at low heat
  5. Add grated cheeses a handful at a time, stirring constantly in the same direction to melt the cheese
  6. Serve with Taralli, tomato pieces, pickles, pretzel rods, bread and a glass of beer!
